The Copy Resource helper is used in conjunction with the paste resource helpers to duplicate a resource within the hierarchy.
CTRL+C and CTRL+V key sequences cannot be used for copy and paste functions. You also cannot select multiple resources to copy using SHIFT and CTRL keys. The Copy Resource helper is used to copy single resources, and cannot be used to duplicate branches or collections.
To copy and paste a single resource
1 | Double-click each level of the directory tree, or use the Expand helper, to display the resource you want to copy in the directory tree. |
2 | Select the resource you want to copy. |
3 | Click the Copy Resource helper to copy the resource, place it in the paste buffer, and activate the paste helpers. You can also do the following to copy a resource. |
• | Right click a resource and select Copy. |
• | Select Helpers in the menu bar, then select Copy Resource. |
Once a resource has been copied, its display in the directory tree appears dimmed and remains highlighted until it is pasted.
4 | Highlight a resource in the location you want to add the copied resource, remembering that you can paste the copied resource below, before, or after the highlighted resource. |
5 | Select the appropriate paste helper (Paste Resource Below, Paste Resource Before, or Paste Resource After) to reposition the resource. Once the copied resource is pasted, it remains highlighted along with the original resource. |
