Resource Manager Wizard
The Resource Manager Wizard is divided into four main sections.
Helpers and the Helper Toolbar
The Resource Manager wizard uses a number of Helpers to complete wizard tasks. You can access Helpers on the Helpers toolbar, on the Helpers menu option, in the directory tree by right clicking on a resource, or within the Create or Modify helpers.
Helper Toolbar
The Helper toolbar identifies the helpers that are used to add resources to the metadata, to perform maintenance on existing resources, and to perform a simple or complex search of the resources contained in the Hyperion DMA. The Helper toolbar displays on the top of the Hyperion Administration window. Most of these helpers may be accessed using a right-click in the directory tree pane, or by selecting from the Helpers menu.

Right-click in the Directory Tree
The following helpers can be accessed from a right-click when a resource is selected in the directory tree. The Collpase and Expand helpers are only available by this method.
Within the Create or Modify Helpers
Additional helpers are available when you Create or Modify resource metadata. These helpers display in the Resource Extended Metadata, and are used to create or modify extended metadata, if your system is configured to allow extended attributes.
Directory Tree
The directory tree lists all the resources stored in the metadata. It is displayed in the left pane of the Resource Manager wizard and is used to navigate through the hierarchy.
Resource Metadata
Resource Metadata is used to describe the active resource displayed from the hierarchy. It is displayed in the upper right pane of the Hyperion Administration window. The basic Resource Metadata can contain the following information.
If you have the Access Control module, you will also see the following information.
Resource Extended Metadata only displays if the system has format policies for these fields and if the Resource Type associated with the resource has an associated format.
For systems with the Accountability module, access to the metadata can be restricted further than user access level. In Hyperion, an accountable resource is classified and an accountable user has clearance. This user clearance must be greater than or equal to the classification of the resource the user wants to display. A user must meet accountability requirements defined in the resource’s classification, access restrictions and need-to-knows in order to access classified resources. Access restrictions and need-to-knows are not required for a resource to be accountable.
Children Metadata
Children Metadata is used to describe the resources belonging to an active resource displayed from the hierarchy. Children metadata is displayed in the lower right pane of the Hyperion Administration window. The Children Metadata can include the following information.
